In this video tutorial, you’ll learn how to embroider the stem stitch. Its thicker lines are perfect for stitching lines, letters or – as the name already suggests – stems of flowers or other botanical pieces. The way it is embroidered the stem stitch looks like a delicate rope. With the individual stitches slightly slanting in one direction they seem to flow into each other instead of the distinct stitches in other embroidery stitches like the backstitch.
